# How Georgia DOT Manages Construction on One of the Nation’s Busiest Interchanges

##### To improve safety and fix congestion along a major highway in Atlanta, Georgia DOT needed to construct new roads, lanes, and ramps around the hectic I-285/SR 400 interchange. But lane closures and detours threatened to worsen traffic as developers worked to complete the re-design. 

##### To find the best days and times for the necessary lane closures, GDOT turned to Jacobs, a key engineering firm on the project.
