What should I know about the StreetLight Slack Community?

Who is this group for?

If you use StreetLight’s tools, it’s for you! From collecting local AADT counts to analyzing safety exposure for pedestrians and cyclists to custom nationwide O-D studies, it’s all good. This is a place to ask, share,  and support. We know our users learn a lot from each other, and appreciate time to connect directly.

How does it work?

Slack is a popular business “chat” platform, and the more talk the better. Here are some examples that would work well:
  • Share your projects and ideas: “I’m working on a turning movement analysis and am surprised at the inconsistent volumes from a main road. Anyone seeing similar patterns in their area?”
  • Ask questions and share guidance with others: "Has anyone tried Top Routes yet?”
  • Exchange tips, tricks, and insights you’ve discovered: “I just realized you can change colors on StreetLight InSight® reports! Check out my latest analysis.”
  • Have fun networking, getting to know each other, and building a community of people to learn from and share with one another.

Are there any community guidelines?

Just as in the real world, we believe in freedom of speech and also strong respect for our fellow humans. We aren’t moderating this group, but we will jump in to enforce our Website Privacy Policy if needed, since privacy is one of our core beliefs. The general guidelines are pretty straightforward:

  • This is a professional forum meant to be friendly and inclusive. Please use work-appropriate judgment when posting and treat members with kindness, respect, and curiosity.
  • Make the most of the community by setting up your profile—use your name and add your company. We want to get to know you!
  • Use Slack’s interactive features to keep conversation flowing: react to messages, respond using threads, and tag people you want a direct response from. This keeps conversations clean and easy to follow.
  • For technical StreetLight InSight® product support or to report bugs, please contact our Support team for any technical issues. For additional technical education from StreetLight, keep an eye on your inbox and our Support center for webinars and events.

My company doesn’t use Slack. Can I still access the group?

Yes! Slack makes it easy for users all over the world to connect. If you don’t have the desktop app on your work computer, you can use your web browser or download the app on your phone.
